I'm a member of English bible study in Taipei Church and we have a new model that has been introduced recently. Now we have to raise questions every week and one of the members should do the question tracking for all. Last week is my turn to do this job, but it’s quite difficult to find a time to discuss with preacher since the preacher and I are both busy. Therefore I’d like to leave the questions here and I hope everyone can have a good discussion about them.

(Questions are from EXDUS CH17~CH19)
Question 1:
Why did Moses need his staff to perform the miracle? Will God's power remain on things and whoever uses it will have the same performance?
為什麼摩西需要他的手杖來展現神蹟?　神的能力是否有可能會寄宿在某件物品上，而任何人去使用他都有同樣的效果?(用角色扮演遊戲的術語來說就是"神器"了....)

Question 2:
Why Moses had to play a role as a Judge? Do our churches judge between two parties nowadays? If so, should the result of those judgments be known as a public matter?
為何摩西需要扮演裁決者的角色?(十八章)我們教會現在也有在幫別人做裁決嗎?如果如此，這些判決的結果應該被公佈出來嗎?


Question 3:
It seems that God focused on Israelites in the Old Testament. Did God listen to the prayers from gentiles in the ancient time? Could people in Old Testament still get God's blessing without being circumcised.
在舊約時代，　神似乎只專注於以色列人。在古代神會聽非以色列人的禱告嗎?在舊約時代，在沒有受割禮的情況下，人們是否能夠得到神的祝福?(因為如果一個外國人要參加逾越節需要受割禮，而就算是以色列人，如果沒有受過割禮，還是不能參加逾越節。)

Question 2:

reply: If the case relates to the public, deal with it in public. If the case is personal, deal with it in private.

1. 當神揀選某人, 成就什麼事, 神的能力是透過那人, 而不是單透過那人使用的物件. 物件本身並沒有什麼能力, 所以並非任何人使用摩西的杖, 也能行神蹟. 保羅身上的手巾、圍裙(徒19:12) , 或彼得的影子(徒5:15), 能夠醫病趕鬼, 是因人對主耶穌的信心, 藉使徒的手行出來.

2. 當時法令初頒, 摩西採用岳父建言, 分層管理, 有難斷的案件, 才呈給摩西審判. 今天教會中偶而也需在兩造間行判斷, 但總要慎聽明斷, 行神的公義. 與真理與眾教會有關的事, 理應公佈. 私事就不要太管閑事或造謠傳舌.

3. 神有時也聽外邦人的禱告並祝福他們, 磨煉日子滿足後的尼布甲尼撒王及悔改的尼尼微城就是明顯的例子.

或許有人會說, 神後悔不降災, 並不算祝福. 但神愛惜不能分辨左手右手的及牲畜, 神照日頭, 降雨, 賜糧食. 神的福澤披及萬民. 神願意眾人得救.

神揀選以色列民, 是為了傳下聖言, 是為了彌賽亞的救贖, 也成為今天神選民的預表及鑒戒, 遵命得福, 違命遭禍.
